ULAB and West Yunnan University Discuss Potential Areas of Cooperation
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a discussion meeting with a delegation from West Yunnan University, China, on August 23, 2026, at the ULAB campus to identify possible areas of cooperation between the two institutions. ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor ShamsadMortuza, PhD, attended the meeting and emphasized the importance of strengthening international academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and opportunities for student and faculty engagement.
The delegation from West Yunnan University was led by Prof. ZHANG Yanmei, Vice President and Professor, who expressed interest in developing closer academic and institutional ties with ULAB. The delegation also included Assoc. Prof. HUANG Jiezong, Director of the Office of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation; Assoc. Prof. Li Jianbo, Deputy Director, Academic Affairs Office; Assoc. Prof. Chen Yinghong, Deputy Dean, School of International Education; Prof. Yu Longfeng, Dean, School of Biotechnology and Engineering; and Dr. Yang Hui, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka.
The meeting brought togetherProfessor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, PhD, Special Advisor to the Board of Trustees and Treasurer, deans, heads of departments, and senior ULAB officials. The discussion explored potential areas of collaboration, including academic exchange, research, faculty and student mobility, and joint initiatives. Both sides expressed their interest in pursuing mutually beneficial opportunities and further strengthening academic and institutional cooperation.
