ULAB participated in the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, held at Novo Theatre, Dhaka, from 12 to 14 September 2026, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology under the theme “Innovation Ecosystem Toward Trillion Dollar Economy.” The three-day fair brought together innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, industries, investors, policymakers and universities to promote collaboration and transform innovation into market and economic activities.
ULAB presented a range of projects, including the Farmers’ Market Preservation, Plastic Bottle Recycling Vending Machine, ParkShare Bangladesh. The Department of EEE showcased a Reconfigurable BMS for Second-Life Batteries, while the CSE Department presented five projects: IoT-Enabled Gait Impairment Classification, BioCal RA, Real-Time AI-Powered Bidirectional Sign Language Translator, OceanSense, and RAG-BChain. These projects drew particular interest for their focus on sustainability, smart solutions, artificial intelligence, accessibility and social impact.
Honourable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the three-day event as the Chief Guest. Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD, Vice Chancellor, ULAB, attended the inaugural session and visited ULAB’s exhibition booth, where he observed the projects and interacted with the participating team. He appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of connecting university-based research and innovation with real-world applications and societal needs. During the fair, Honorable ICT Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam, MP, and Rehan A. Asad Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister, State Minister-ICT, Telecom Science & Tech, along with other distinguished guests, also visited the ULAB exhibition booth and explored the innovative projects showcased by the university.
